Results of the 2002 FIP Philatelic
Web Site Evaluation

There were 30 entries received that were qualified for the evaluation of their sites, a smaller number than in previous years. These came from 17 countries, a slight decrease from before. For the first time, there were exhibits in the Official Class - three web sites sponsored by Postal Administrations.

The sites are listed alphabetically within each award section. Their home country is given along with the URL. Sites entered in prior years are indicated with an asterisk following their URL. Written critiques will be sent to each entrant.

The evaluation was completed by a team of eight accredited literature jurors from five countries in Europe and North America under the leadership of Francis Kiddle, president of the FIP Literature Commission. The guidelines used in the evaluation were the same as in prior years, and are presented on the Introductory page. The sites are listed alphabetically within each award section. Their home country is given along with the URL.

To evaluate the sites, a panel of three teams was appointed:
Overall Team Leader: Francis Kiddle †, UK.
Team 1: Ken Lawrence, USA, and Charles Verge, Canada.
Team 2: Robert de Violini †, USA, Cimon Morin, and Ron Negus, UK.
Team 3: Michael D. Dixon, USA, and Toke Nørby, Denmark.
FIP Consultant: Charles J. Peterson †, USA.

The following URLs are the URLs as they were when the sites were evaluated in August 2002 - so there is no guarantee that all the URLs still are active.
