Press Release no. 2.

The Queen protector for a world exhibition!

Queen Margrethe II has accepted to be patron for the world exhibition, which will take place in Bella Center, 16-21 October 2001, marking the 150th anniversary of the first Danish stamp.

And the Queen is not unfamiliar with stamps, far from it.

Her Majesty is not only represented in almost 100 Danish stamps, the Queen is also the only monarch in the world who has designed Christmas seals.

Hundreds of collectors will compete in this world exhibition, the HAFNIA 01, in which postal authorities and dealers by the hundred will participate as well.

The exhibition is held under the motto "We are building Bridges". A motto which not only symbolises the two major bridge buildings at the present here but also the fact, among others, that collectors from all over the world will gather in Denmark for a peaceful competition.

It is a well-known fact that the Danish Philatelic Federation, the Danish Stamp Dealers' Association and the postal authorities in Denmark, Faroe Islands and Greenland are behind the exhibition.

Besides, the exhibition has just published its Bulletin No. 1, which appeals to stamp collectors to enter as exhibitors.

Exhibition classes are Traditional, Thematic, Literature and Open Class.

Final date for entering is 1 July 2000.

Everyone with interest in this exhibition is welcome to contact the HAFNIA 01 secretariat for further information, on phone no. +45 "2001 2001".
